I sang and conducted as part of the Choir Aid event raising funds for Nepal Earthquake Victims, at St. John's Cathedral yesterday too. It was one of the more challenging things I've done, to finish dancing along to Chatanooga Choo Choo with Kassia Women's Choir (who KILLED it!) then 60 seconds later to be leading and singing in Byrd's "Ave Verum Corpus" with Tallis Vocalis.
I am 6 weeks away from leaving Island School and yesterday, the Island School Year 7 Training Choir, which I set up in August 2014, had their final performance conducted me. They took part in Choral Evensong at St. John's Cathedral - something I get to conduct once or twice a year. This is the kind of singing I cut my teeth on as a young singer (with the Bluecoat C.of E. After 12 years at the helm of Katterwall (together with my rock, Celia Leung) I have sold my share to its new owner, Terri Oliver, who I am sure is going to make a GREAT job of taking it on to the next level. She has a lot of great ideas The second half of 2015 will see a lot of changes for me. It's an exciting time and I can't wait to get started. It's pretty much Watch This Space right now...!
